about
These Scars is the debut single from JoSö World, a violin-soaked folk-pop project created by Violinist/Singer-Songwriter Johanna Sö. This song is a reflection on the human experience of defining and owning our own scars in life. Sö lends her orchestral sensibilities to an otherwise pop-infused track to grab the listener with layers of enthralling strings and soaring choral-style vocals. Sö’s performance on lead vocals and violin is exceptionally complimented by the work of Hugh McMillan (bass), Terence Clark (drums), Cara Fox (cello), and Isabelle Dunlop (background vocals). This work was recorded and mixed by Boutique Empire and is part of their arts collective out of Vancouver, B.C.
lyrics
These scars will be just fine
I know now that they’re mine
I left my tears next to my fear
For a life I could define
When I promised that I wouldn’t leave
I never thought that I’d deceive
I’m sorry that I lied to you
Thought I had something big to prove
You tried so hard to make me stay
Convinced I was throwing my whole life away
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be fine
I know now that they’re mine
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be just fine
I know now that they’re mine
These scars will be fine
With you alone I could not pretend
there might not be a better end
There’s something I was made to do
I couldn’t let it rest on you
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be just fine
I know that they’re mine
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be fine
I know that they’re mine
These scars will be fine
These scars will be just fine
These scars will be just fine
I know that they’re mine
These scars will be fine
